A new report by IBM entitled “A Vision for Smarter Growth: an IBM Smarter Cities Report on Accra, Ghana” highlights how the rapidly emerging West African city should turn to technology to transform its key urban systems. Based on the opinions of local experts from across public and private sectors the report identifies transportation, energy and city services as being essential for Accra’s urban reform.http://ibm.co/ZccqSD
According to the International Monetary Fund, Ghana will be the seventh fastest growing economy in the world by 2015 – driven by a new oil and gas industry, a growing base of consumers and significant foreign investment. Its capital, Accra is one of Africa’s fastest emerging future cities.
