Open Mapping Project: Transparent Chennai

Transparent Chennai is an open mapping project that aims to improve urban governance in Chennai, India. The organization is building on and improving poor quality government data through a team of mapping volunteers and by using the power of crowd-sourcing. The data collected by Transparent Chennai is shared with the public through open databases and via a Google Maps visualization of the data. The Google Map provides a number of categorized layers which allows Chennai residents to view important data about the city and its infrastructure.
