Disaster risk reduction achievements 2016: good practices, tools and initiatives

This publication features 50 good practices, tools and initiatives that were supported under the 2015-2016 DIPECHO Action Plan. These contribute to the implementation of the Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy 2014-2024 and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. All initiatives in the publication are associated to one of the following four thematic focus areas:

  • Early Warning Systems;
  • Communicating Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR);
  • Information & Knowledge Management;
  • Institutionalization of DRR.

This publication facilitates the sharing of DRR information to enable joint planning and programming.

The publication was prepared in the context of the CDM signature event: Annual Achievements and Priorities on Disaster Risk Reduction which took please from 23 to 24 November 2016 in Barbados.
